Labour gain seat in Eston.
In the May local election, Labour gained 1 seat in Eston from the Independents. Olwyn Peters took the seat and Labour's other 2 candidates John Simms and Beryl Dunning came close also. All 3 candidates put up a marvellous fight and all 3 were fantastic candidates. Olwyn Peters, with her marvellous work in the Whale Hill Community Association, will make a great Councillor.

Saving Lazenby Post Office!
Olwyn Peters, Labour M.P Vera Baird and Council Leader George Dunning are to join forces to prevent any threat to Lazenby Post Office.
Lazenby Bus Service Boost.
After a local bus company reduced it's services for Lazenby, the Labour controlled council have stepped in with a new community bus service to fill the gap. The service will provide links between Eston, Lazenby & Redcar.
