Opposition to Normanby Road Planning Application
Local Councillors vigorously oppose a new planning application requesting to build two properties in the vicinity of the recently renovated Eston Cemetry west wall. Normanby Road is regarded as an extermely busy thoroughfare with poor access in and out especially around rush hours. It is difficult to see how adding more buildings, particulary in this location, could relieve current access problems.
Church Lane Estate dispersal order brings relief to residents
Teesville Labour Councillors Sheelagh Clarke, Norman Pickthall and George Dunning as well as local residents brought to the attention the disgraceful anti – social behaviour that was wreaking havoc on the Church Lane Estate in Eston. Since then the police introduced a dispersal order across a wide area of Eston including the Church Lane estate. This has brought a welcome festive period of respite for local residents from the anti – social behaviour. Teesville councillors working in association with Coast and country have ensured security fencing be placed across the embankment area to try an prevent off road vehicles and other anti – social behaviour.
‘Friends of Eston Cemetery’ project
Labour Councillors in Teesville are firmly behind a ‘Friends of Eston Cemetery’ project. In the New Year a meeting will take place to set up the project and stipulate it’s areas of concern. It aims to improve security in the cemetery, maintain footpaths, look at access problems and the general maintenance of the cemetery.
Manor House fencing reinstated.
After residents had complained about large sections of the perimeter fence missing around the Manor House in Normanby, Teesville councillors contacted council officers and an arrangement was made with the doctors to re – instate the fencing along the footpath which had massive sections missing, was an eye sore and a security problem.
